Designed for two male and two female sailors aged 18 to 24 years old, AC9F Kōtare, a 9m foiling monohull, was built to race in the 2021 Youth America’s Cup regatta. The rules for the event were drawn up by the Squadron, who was keen to create more opportunities for “the America’s Cup sailors of tomorrow”. In early September it was announced that the event had been cancelled due to immigration restrictions relating to Covid 19-a huge disappointment for all concerned.
